Based on the Global Video Insights Article for September 2011, published by Vuclip, Bollywood heroine Katrina Kaif is the most searched celebrity on mobile videos. Britney Spears and Linday Lohan are on second and 3rd spot respectively featuring in this group whereas Kareena Kapoor is on the fourth spot, also singer Beyonce Knowles is on fifth. Indin heroine Sonakshi Sinha is on sixth spot. Singer Pitbull, Justin Bieber, Shakira and Don Omar are as well in the top ten.
“A Bollywood star leading in front of her global peers in mobile video searches globaly is a proof to the fact that mobile video clips have after all taken off in India in a big way,” said Salman Hussain, Vuclip’s vice president announced.
“Every month we see more and more Indians viewing video clips on their mobile display using not just smart phones but even basic feature phones.
Back home, Sachin Tendulkar emerged as the most searched male star in mobile movies in India.
Among the most watched clips in India, top of the the graphs was Ajay Devgn’s joke on Kangana Ranaut’s swimming suit shoot for the movie Rascals, followed by Vidya Balan’s two gossip video clips about The Dirty Picture.
Baba Ramdev’s answer to Rakhi Sawant’s marriage proposal also made it to the top five most watched mobile video clips in India in September.
Among the top mobile phones people used to watch video clips globally, Apple’s iPhone continued to lead the list. It was followed by RIM’s Blackberry handsets that secured 7 spots in the top ten mobile phones list for September, followed by two Nokia phones.
